Fifth Annual Morrison Lecture to be held in Stone Chapel at 6:00 PM, followed by a reception and book-signing at Bookmarx, 325 E. Walnut, at 7:30 - 9:00 PM.  

Mr. Hedges poses the following questions:  "Why is it that as the economic, political, cultural, social and environmental crisis deepens in America so does the propensity for self-delusion? What are the forces that propel huge segments of the public towards magical thinking and the fantastic promises of con artists and demagogues? Why is hate and violence so often the primary form of communication? And how can we build movements and systems that root people in the world of reality truth and verifiable fact?"
