The Institute for Lifelong Learning: Naval Aviation In-Person
Retired US Navy Commander. Designated a Naval Aviator March 1967.
Served in the U. S. Navy for 22 years and retired in 1986.
Deployed overseas four times, three to Vietnam, one to Mediterranean. 210 combat missions, 3500 flight hours in 10 aircraft types, 625 carrier landings on USS Enterprise, USS Ranger, USS Coral Sea and USS Independence.
Served two years with the U.S. Air Force on exchange duty at Myrtle Beach AFB.
Post-active duty worked for the U. S. Navy for 17 years as the head of the Academic Support Division to the Naval Strike and Air Warfare Center at NAS Fallon, Nevada. The Center teaches advanced combat tactics to U. S. Navy air wings prior to overseas deployment.
Retired from government service in 2003.
